I had a nice unplanned travel this time...
On my way from Nagpur to our business location (Raipur), I noticed a banner of Digambar Acharya Vidyasagar indicating the Acharya staying somewhere nearby. I thought of visiting him and then quickly made my mind to actually a spend a night in that hill town of Dongergarh (State: Chhattisgarh). Had a wonderful experience of meeting the monks and observing the Digambar monkhood closely. They are 34 monks together and I saw most of the time they were either meditating or reading scriptures. Most of the monks seem to get up very early in the morning, around 3 AM. They take food and water just once a day at around 9:30 AM.
Acharya Vidyasagar Sangh is running a school called Pratibha Sthali at Dongergarh for girls (including underprivileged ones) and promote value based education. The sangh runs a handloom unit enabling poor women with self-employment and promoting handicraft. A beautiful temple of Tirthankar Chandra Prabhu is being constructed under the guidance of the Acharya."
